Funny_Bunny Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I'd like to see Lighhouses in ports that historically had ones. That would make nighttime sailing better for us. 4
Chustler Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 It's been suggested many times. It's a great idea, but I doubt it's high on the list of priorities yet.
Hugh Latham Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 probably good for player port improvements functions
ObiQuiet Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 BTW, It's possible that there were no lighthouses in this part of the world at this time period. If you are interested, there is a book by Stevenson, The World's Lighthouses Before 1820. That doesn't mean that some rich Port can't build one. 2
Destraex Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I was thinking the same thing. No light houses maintained because the sea lanes just were not the same kind of busty and long serving traffic that Europe had
Spork Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Did a bit of research on lighthouse history in the area the game is set in. Given we don't have an exact date the game is set in it's impossible to know what places should have lighthouses and which few should. For instance Jamaicas oldest surviving lighthouse was built in 1841. (Point Morant). My thought is that while lighthouses would be okay to have I would much prefer the ability to discern the glow that lighted areas would project far out from lit areas. To get an idea of what I'm talking about simply drive to a deserted area and look towards any town. The sky will have a glow about it after your eyes adjust to the darkness. 1
