primuspilus Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 So, which one is more beneficial? What are the downsides to each?
Flavalicious Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Traditionally, capturing nets more gold, less xp. Sinking is less gold, more xp. Usr ehatever method you need the payout for
Guest raat Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 In the current metagame, it's easier to capture than to sink when you account for crew repair. It's faster and saves yourself more repair costs. Though, you get almost no XP for it. It may be trickier to get a player in a position to capture them and poses a risk. But I'm sure with practice, it's not that difficult. Especially if you are in a larger battle where people are distracted like the Saturday Trafalgars.
Flavalicious Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Yesturday i attacked a frigate with my under crewed pavel. Took like 35 rounds to force his surrender lol. Deck guns were forever greyed out (even at 100 prep) and nothing i was doing was doing huge kills or moral damage, finally was able to work his crew low enough that the damage started to multiply. Afterwards it turned out he had blue barricades, which is my theory as to why it was so hard to cap lol
