Smirks Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) // RESOLVED // SEE EDIT 3 // // Feel Free to Delete Post// I have just upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7. When I load naval action i get an error message saying I have shader model 3 and i need 5. I have completely uninstalled my nvidia driver and reinstalled the latest version 353.62 I have run the steam verify files also. I am still getting this issue when i try to start Naval Action. Naval Action was working perfectly fine until I updated. Any solution to this issue? Nvidia GTX 680 Driver version 353.62 Windows 10 64bit Edit: added dxdiag and gpuz files Edit2: I have diabled the onboard graphics card so the computer only has the gtx 680 available. Still thinks i have shader 3 and not 5. I have also reinstalled Naval Action through steam. Still have the issue. Edit3: Issue resolved, Corrupted d9d3 file found, replaced and issue resolved. admin Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Probably our shader checker does not take into account win10 potential driver changes and causes this problem investigating.
Smirks Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 The issue also effected my War Thunder game, i believe the issue was local to my machine.
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Still a very good report. I like that you posted the fix as well. I think this post should be left up in case another Win10 user experiences a similar issue. Thank you for the thorough explanation and fix!
