jodgi Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I tried out some speeds at sea just to get a better feel, or as reference to the speeds of the ships in NA. Driving a car doesn't quite do it for me. For whatever it is worth: 10 knots: 16 knots, in the name of trincs and renoms: It really is fast, isn't it? 22 knots for the pre nerfed renoms with speedmods: 41 knots, just because I could 3
Ned Loe Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Thank you for posting these. Try to film the side of the boat and compare to land.
jodgi Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Yea, thought about that intially, but it's kind of tricky because any amount of distance adds parallax effect. I might try, but not anytime soon.
Balsafer Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 OW feels like speedboats. Most likely will not change much.
BlueEagleGER Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Everyone please keep in mind that the slitest change in hight to the water really changes your feeling of speed. When swimning (5cm to eyes) 2 kts is insanely fast, sitting on a 420er (~20cm above the water + length of torso) the same speed is "damm, not moving at all :-(". When you are on the upper deck of a Channel ferry, that would equal the usual camera position in the OW, atleast for me, 26kts feels like 4 in a 420er or perhaps like 7 in Jodgi's boat. In the open world of course there is tje time compression aswell. 1
