Hugh Latham Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Currently we have Trader vessels that are simply warship models minus the guns (except for the minimal guns on a Snow). I would like to see trader models without the unused gunport; maybe false painted gunports. For the Trader Snow I would like to have the option of placing 2 stern chasers instead of 2 of the broadside gun positions. Also there is the question of armed traders such as the Indiamen. 1
Tief N Tote Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 yes they do need improvements to the trade ships also they need to put trade items in these ships 1
maturin Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 The gunports would usually be real. What we really need are partially-armed gundecks. Any trader in dangerous waters was bound to be armed with a pair of pop-guns or carronades at the very least. Naturally, the unarmed ports could then be shut.
ragnar hairy trousers Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 (edited) how about this vessel... its armed with 12 large guns Edited August 2, 2015 by ragnar hairy trousers
Powderhorn Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 On a tangental note - would it be possible to have NPC traders carrying cargo? Whether sinking or capturing, they always are empty for me. 3

Like sir Maturin said on long voyage traders they where armed with more then 3 guns\carronades, Some of bigger trading vessels was actually heavyly armed considering their role\purpose is. But then again i mite be wrong that they where deticated trade vessels they mite be some sort of warship s revised to become a trading vessel. Fell free to correct me if im wrong about this sir Maturin.
DeRuyter Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 We are eventually going to get the Amsterdam, a large, well armed, Indiaman, in the game.
Elcid Barrett Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I would also like to see the Man-of-War pennants removed from traders, and in the case of Great Britain a Union flag instead of a Naval Ensign.
