So Im wondering how you get other ships. If there is a tutorial, if someone could link, I would appreciate it.

It is quite simple: 1. You buy one in the port ("ships" in the top of the screen) using the money you get from fighting battles, selling loot or trading (buying resources for price x and selling them in a other port for a higher price y).

Or you manage to board an enemy ship, then you can send it to your harbour, repair it and sail it then.
