hehe.  Actually, I agree with you. Down the road, I'd like to see region-specific options for boarding noises.  I'd hope to hear both my choice, and my target's choice at the same time (e.g. if I have drums and attack a ship that chose bagpipes, I'd hear both.

It was pretty usual for the navy to transport the army, so I guess they often played music when boarding. Even though I find no source of it.

But yea, I agree with you. Perhaps it would be a little to unrealistic with bagpipes.

Yes, I doubt such a situation ever actually occurred (that can be verified). In fact, was music ever actually played during boarding? Any man in his right mind would be arming himself for boarding rather than playing a tune.

I love bagpipes. Hope to hear some this weekend. I love a wide variety of music. Hearing any type of music in game is a very personal matter and can enhance or ruin the experience.

If you like music during the game please help yourself and crank up your tunes. I hope the developers don't subject all of us to ANY in game music that cannot be toggled off ... Completely.
