Ned Loe Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 It would be nice to have drops and mist on our screen when sailing on the OS. Similar to telescope view. (as optional feature that can be enabled or turned off.) example: 2
z4ys Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 There are water drops in OS. When you are sailing in a storm. I don't like them because it is a third person view in OS. The drops should only be there when using a telescope or there's a captain view and he/she wears glasses. 1
Johan Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 For best immersion use a water-sprayer. I placed mine right beside the monitor. Seriously, such effects are best when they are used when they really appear. On a camera-lense, googles, windshield etc. 2
Callaghan Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I hate the idea. This is supposed to be an age of sail simulator, not a camerman with a time machine in the age of sail simulator. It´s like motion blur and lens flare, they should have been killed off a long time ago. 1
Angus McGregor Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I know this is a very old thread, but it addresses an issue that really breaks the immersion for me. Callaghan and z4ys are absolutely right - there should NOT be water drops on a non-existent windshield or camera lens in the standard OW view. Telescope view is fine, a glass surface is involved. And yes, it would be nice if it were the random spatter that is in the standard view and not a set pattern that never changes.
jodgi Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Even with a spyglass the drops are completely unrealistic "immersion" eye-candy. Realism would have been a blur or de-focus like a Doris Day filter when drops are present. Let's not spend too many calories on frikkin' raindrops.
