Hello, quick question.

Is this game a full blown MMO?  Thousands of players on one server at a time?

I did a little bit of searching, but I could really only come up with an online aspect.

This game is in closed testing alpha, you can´t buy it at the moment, so no there aren´t thousands of players on at a time, because they (very rightly) sold a limited number of copies for testing. All players connect to the same server, yes, and the world is huge. I have no doubt that when it comes out there will be no server population issues, it´s a great game.

Currently you can expect 50-150 players on at anyone time. The open ocean part of the game is conducted on 1 large massive server that all players sail in, when you engage something you are put into a seperate battle instance and you fight there. Upon conclussion you are returned to the open ocean with the rest of the player base.
