Magnum Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Please feel free to post your own #1's here...... For me it is - Spectator Mode I would surely love to come upon a battle symbol and click on it and gain this: 1. What ships involved (with an asterisk for Human Captained ones) 2. When it started (battle timer shown) and thus the max it could go on. 3. If it was closed to more combatants - a spectator mode button that would put your ship in "inactive" (can't fire or take damage) inside the instance - so you could watch, perhaps using the raven eyes to see from on high. You would have a red no symbol over your ship so the contestants would know you were just a spectator and You could leave only when the last player has left (to prevent spying). Trafalgar and many of the most famous battles in history had plenty of spectators. Some like to watch .........
Tief N Tote Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 hmm that would be fun expecially if we could heckel and taunt them to. say i play brit and brit and france are at pease but i don't like france and i stumble apon a french dutch battle i would like to cheer for the dutch. 1
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Meh, taking your ship out of open world without putting it into combat would be a little exploitative I think. 3
Zeekoning Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 If this is implemented, observer ships should not be able to be seen and interacted with. This way it prevents observers from ramming and/or obstructing the view of participants. 1
Magnum Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Meh, taking your ship out of open world without putting it into combat would be a little exploitative I think. Yea I guess that could be exploited to dodge fights - see: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/5690-why-people-dont-fight/page-13 Well, perhaps an ode' to the 21st century and when you enter port you could go to the tavern, see a list of fights happening in the world and watch one of them on a sort of immersive TV (a god's eye view of the fight) while your ship is being repaired? Might turn into a PPV opportunity for the Dev's HeuHeu 2
Hydern Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Would be cool if you could spectate the fights your friends are in
Prater Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I like that Amp. I agree the 1st system could be exploited, but your solution to the exploiting sounds cool. You would need to take away so the player can't see the names of enemy players and can only see their own country's player names. Or maybe you can only see the names of your friends? 1
Magnum Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 hmmmm, yes perhaps only the names on the nationality you are playing (but that opens a whole new kettle of worms) - or perhaps no names whatsoever in PPV view - just the beauty of the ballet of the fight an the sound of the cannons - since you have no control over the action with your Team Speak right . I might call for a 10 to 30 second delay - so the Team Speak crowd can't coach their pals. But go ahead and get your buddies together on Team Speak with some beer and pizza and it's Ali - Foreman all over again! 1
James Blei Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 1. Trading Goods & Trading Routes and get Loot from Trading Ships (Sugar,Tabacco etc) 2. Boarding Claim Flag If you claim a Ship, add a Flag below the white flag, so everyone can see that this Ship is claimed. And nobody can steal it. 3. Sailing as a slave ship, she was captured by the pirate Captain Benjamin Hornigold on November 28, 1717, near the island of Martinique. Hornigold turned her over to one of his men, Edward Teach (later known as Blackbeard), and made him her captain. kang Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 An observer system would be cool, for sure. Would probably be helpful for the newblets, as well...
Crankey Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Nice idea Ampholic but it could be exploited easily if you were a ship who didn't get into the battle and you wanted to view it in real time. Would it be possible to 'record' and view it after all combatants had left for training purposes or just for fun, now that idfea I would be happy to +1.. Any teamspeak or other communication between battlers and 'outsiders' would be unfair. You havent made it into battle so you shouldn;t be able to offer advice or 'heckle' any of the actions inside it.
Crankey Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 LOVE TO HAVE IN GAME :- MAJOR:- PORT BATTLES - in some form to vie for control of a coastline or port. NICE TO HAVE AS A SIMPLE ADDITION TO CURRENT BUILD, Click on port names like we have click on fleet composition. To 'telescope' locations from afar. 2
Scout Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Hoping for some day whaling in some form npc´s whaling ships or player´s who can do so. Same with Ai slave ships coming from Africa and other trade good´s tee sugar rum and so on. And to end with ow telescope. I know that some people have strong ideas of both slaves and whaling but the fact is it was common on these time´s and i hope it make it in to the game it is and will be a part of history. I am by no means saying that slaving is good or was good and i do not claim that any race is better then others. 1
Jacques de Montagne Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I am not a fan of the human trafficing simulator idea, Jack, please dwell on the ethical implications of your suggestion. I think you are aware that the topic remains to be a contemporary human tragedy. There is a line here which shall in my opinion not be crossed by recreative software.
Scout Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Of course i do not expect that you will all jump on the idea. And i expect that many are up against it. But in the end it´s history and slaver's did sail the sea´s. Closing your eye´s to a unethical parts of the history is to me like the ostrich with the head in the sand. This is a war game sailors blowing up and burning alive i am sorry but the line you are referring to was step'd over a long time ago. My point with the line is that there are many games that do take the slavery on for example Civilization and Total war. 1
BungeeLemming Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 why not do this: If you want to spectate only.. jump into a cutter or equivalent and join the battle in such a ship which can always run from any danger and in return wont do any harm to the fighting parties.. As it is now you have the "home" key. For a released game this button will disappear. But you will still be able to join in a small ship.

If Home key disappears , how are we going to make nice videos?
