Justme Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 My wife was telling me that there was was a new pirate game coming out for Xbox one( all AOS games are pirate games to her lol) so I got my hopes up it might be something decent. Turns out I should of known better. This is the new game coming out for Xbox one. "Sigh" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gC7UzEouNXg Sorry for link, can't get YouTube vids to work. And knowing MS, they won't allow another game of this type on XBOX. Oh well
maturin Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Those waves, though. Another case of, 'this game could actually not be terrible, if we felt like it.'
admin Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 the spray is great though. need to borrow some ideas from there 6
Tief N Tote Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 well looking at the website it has windows and x-box one listed might be interisting who knows 1
maturin Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 the spray is great though. need to borrow some ideas from there Yup, especially as ships like Trinc and Renommee pitch into the troughs of waves. And then all the spray streams backwards onto the deck when you're going to windward. 1
Macjimm Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Looks sorta silly. Seems to be targeted at the kindergarten and elementary school crews.
Jeremiah O'Brien Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Anyone over the age of 6 who plays this should be ashamed of themselves.
Justme Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 the spray is great though. need to borrow some ideas from there So it's possible some good may come of this atrocity? 1
SirSwiggitySwooty Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 This is the same disappointment I felt when I saw my crew were all white guys :c
Sir Cloudsley-Shovell Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Its a bit of a cartoon version of Black Flag to me.
LeBoiteux Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) the spray is great though. need to borrow some ideas from there +1. Also, appreciate the efficiency of the application of the principle of Exaggeration in animating : - sailing (buoyancy : ship going uuuuup and downnnnn ; height and high number of waves, much spray…), - firing cannonballs (lots of smoke, big blasts, ball curve flight, big gun recoil…), - ship damages (camera shaking…) - …. Of course Sea of Thieves is catoon and NA is more realistic, but any realistic animation needs this principle. Maybe NA animations would be enhanced by a (little) bit more exaggeration. Also see camera position / angle for immersion. Source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_basic_principles_of_animation Edited June 26, 2015 by LeBoiteux
