Man, I would swear there is a GIANT forest fire in Belize - the whole Caribbean is getting Much more hazy than it was in Sea Trials.

It is getting BORING and tedious not to be able to see 10 - 15 miles for the haze. In reality the Caribbean is almost always clear with a "slight" distance haze at about 30 miles on most days.

----

Example here is a shot in game showing an island less than 1/2 min away in my Surprise (10 miles max across the wind) , it looks like it is at most 4 or 5 miles away - yet it is badly obscured by haze.....

By comparison here is St. Lucia on an average day - you can easily see the shore line 20 miles away at Gros Island point and the haze starts about 35 or 40 miles out - but if you look closely you can see Martinique about 45 miles away .

I would like to see it more clear in game - more like it was in Sea Trials and it usually is in real life,

please.

The problem is without haze you could see infinitely. In the real Carribean the curvature of the earth restricts vision but atm I don't believe that is a thing in the OW.

Yea, I am not saying "no haze" Just more like it is on the posters at the Game Labs site:

I know we can't lose the haze - I'd just like to see it dialed back 75%.

I think it is good as it is, there is certainly a range of viewing distance out there, dialing back the haze would be a detrimental factor. I would even like to occasionally see it really thick to add a bit more tension.

These were the experiments with the visuals that we decided to freeze temporarily until we finish working on other things. Haze we don't like too; and the sunny day should feel like a sunny day. It will be improved in the future.
