Lovec1990 Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 (edited) @admin and @Ink when will temerarie/montañes and wreker be introduced and do you have any pics? Edited April 6, 2019 by Lovec1990
Citoyen Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Dear @admin Since the Hermione is DLC, can we hope to see her with her figurehead?🙏 3

I always wondered why they left out figureheads on some ships that should have them. Maybe those aren't historically accurate? Would be nice to know... The figureheads give the ships more character and individuality. 1
mikawa Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Have you ever thought of making a DLC for veteran players? Regarding WOW there are several add ons which let players level up further. You could let veterans join another server maybe with slightly different setting (and better AI, better rewards, better loot) where players can level up further (e.g. Apprenticeman Admiral, Journeyman Admiral, Expert Admiral ...). So if reached highest Level Players could switch to the "pro" server and take all their belongings with them. 1.) Veteran Players can join this server at release. Maybe let buy DLC for Access. 2.) New Players join the regular server first. They can play and level up in full freedom without having expert veteran players on their side. They have a great motivation of leveling up to be able to switch to pro server. Nobody needs to lose neither the thousands of hours they spent in game nor the knowledge grinded. 1

mikawa Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 What happens when a players reaches the edge of the map? Does he fall off? 1
angriff Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Why do fleet ships always turn downwind when you tell them to disengage and retreat? For some ships such as Trader Lynx this is not a good choice.
Tomasso il Fortunato Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Why we don't have full controll of our fleet ships in battle ?

Would be interesting if you popped back on the the other side of the map but not realistic. So, I await a reply on your question.
angriff Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Has the new economy missions reduced tax income to clans now? The economy mission do not produce tax revenue. Has the economy mission obsoleted Indiaman and Le Gross trading ships? With the few exceptions of carrying resource missions back they are all but obsolete to generate income.

I have not seen an Indiaman in quite some time. Very few LGVs as well. I know for a fact that I have paid no taxes since the cargo missions were started. can't speak for the clans of course.

You can see a lot of ports that got a good amount of tax revenue now again are not making a lot - majority of players went to delivery missions. There was a good balance between trade goods giving reals and missioms giving doubloons....it's now out of whack again.

It used to be that if you sailed south down the far SE side of the map down that little slot you could eventually sail under South America and get to the Pacific. I don’t know if that’s still the case. If you sail west up those rivers at the far north of North America it seemed to endlessly go forever. I never tried it fir more than an hour though. Sailing off the east side of the map also seems to go on forever. In each of these cases, F11 coordinates continue to update but take extra food because there are no fish off the map. o7
van der Clam Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 I remember when sailing far East would bring you to a bunch or square islands. Sail further and you hit Africa. If you head NE you will hit Europe and the OW map will load for NA-Mediterranean. Only one of these sentences is true.

I don’t know if that’s still the case. It was navigable on the autumn testbed. I sailed all the way around the edge and visited the little islands in the Pacific. There were no mermaids, pirates, fish, bottles, or even salt. Which is a huge shame. Edited April 11, 2019 by Barbancourt
angriff Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Why would a ship on fire sinking or boarded not blow up like any other normal ship on fire? I think the potential of a ship on fire boarded and continual firing by other ships to kill crew should exasperated the fire and increase the possibility of the attacking ships being destroyed in the explosion.
angriff Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 I noticed something the other day watching a streaming of a battle. The lack of some rare woods to a nation requires player to construct of alternate woods that are available. While this provides a basic mix of ships that can produce interesting fights and could lead to a dominance of one nation over the other without real effort. Clans sometimes are not as strong as their numbers and can be further hampered by lack of some rare woods is my thought. However, the point is in this video some players spent allot of effort to capture an enemy 1st rate once they had it they looked at the woods and three voices said BLECH, YUK in foreign languages to a Sabicu frame - White Oak planking build and sank it. In this scenario this country had access to the rare preferred teak white oak and live oak white oak PVP building resources so they turned their noses up on this other country's vessel that does not have that access. Is this a good thing? Well the variety maybe but does it balance or generate a fight to get those rare resources as planned? With the largest Clan of the Brits on hiatus until the roll out the game and launch this may never be tested or known. It does show the preferences for the woods in clear display of haves dislike for capturing a ship not to their taste or capabilities and have nots compensating in pvp builds of a lessor wood. (Note: this battle was won on the boarding card game so it does not depict the substituted woods capabilities) 3
Zlatkowar Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 As of now, I pulled 4 of my friends back to the game over the past month. Some haven't tried it since 2016 (steam release). You may want to call us crybabies as much as you want (indirectly you did in some of your posts), but if you knew, if you could hear on vocal the outrage on the lack of logic in some of the games mechanics and functionalities... This was alarming. And here I am holding back my own negative opinions on the poor mechanics and functionalities and keeping my chill to explain patiently what they should do and how it works... And it did work. They are still here. But this was none of my job. If the game was well designed this would work out by itself. For the record these are all experienced players, most of them participate on a regular basis in alphas, betas, early accesses on sandbox games of all types, and one of them did complete the final exam in days after his return. So it is not a matter of skill cap, it is not a matter of not being used to early development games, not a matter of grind either. You can keep thinking that people don't know what they want, that we're just a bunch of crybabies, that Steam reviews are biased and whatnot. But I think at some point for the love of this game you have to wake up. Here's one suggestion you may want to apply before the game hits release : Invite someone you trust, someone neutral who has nothing to do with the game and who has never touched it to come and test the game and give you a full feedback on his experience. There are things that some of us here got used to, and don't even notice because we learned to live with it. An external, objective and trustworthy opinion might do a lot of good to the games direction. 3

Developers only listen to a few players and some clans. the result is distressing ... no imagination ... the only change in the last three years has been to remove content and permanently change the ROE ..... it's poor ... 2

Well, of course they "turn their noses up" since it is a weaker build. They should just cut out the rare wood BS and give everyone easy access to all woods for a more fair and balanced game. 1
Botq Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Is it still possible that release will happen at the end of Q2 2019 ? I see roadmap deadlines going pretty well so ... 1
Steele OooOoOOoOOOooooOOOO Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Are you going to add with release Solo Game/and or Lan Vanilla game ? if so Will we be able to do some Historical Battles ,like Constitution in chains or Trafalgar Or some of the more Difficult Engagements of the time? teaser please
Zlatkowar Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Any news regarding the Naval Action - Painter DLC and the 50 additional paints we were supposed to get? Initial statement said that those would come within 30 days after DLC release (21.03).
James Thomson Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Is there any chance we can go back to the "Historical Accuracy" in ships? I have been away for a while and last time i played there was no books or Port bonuses. There was only ship raritys and 5 upgrade slots maximum. They were maximum of around 5% boost on some area. Now we have books that you NEED to have. You NEED to have certain mods and bonuses to even have even match. Dont even think you can join RvR or Port Battles without them. Oh and you cant build them unless in BIG society. You can have 1st rates going over 10knots, only steamengine can pull that off. These ships had hard time pulling even 8-9 knots. I would really carefully review what was about year ago and compare it to todays. And i would probably say that a year ago it was far more balanced, and more importantly it was fun for all. Solo, small and big societys. This is what really killed Potbs in the end. Any chances going back to upgrades, bonuses and books not being so dramatic of an effect to gameplay please? 8
