Cdr.ODon Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Wouldn't it be cool if, instead of the 'attack' button in open world, it was renamed: 'beat to quarters'. Also, drumming sounds could be heard as the timer counts down and through the instance loading screen. Thoughts? 9
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I'm not sure. The 400th time I heard that drum rolling, if I wasn't already gouging my ears out, my wife would be attacking me from behind with a large kitchen knife. 3

It might be OK to hear it when called into battle on a long voyage... maybe an "[ ] Inform the captain when an enemy sail is sighted" checkbox.

For annoyed wives, just use headphones. 1
Tom Pullings Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 It's what would happen on a real ship. So, seems good to me. Can't see the able seaman complaining about having to hear that damned drum again. 1
BungeeLemming Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 beat to quarter means you prepare your ship for action or training. So whats the point in renaming the attack button into "prepare to fight"? I dont think it makes a lot sense. But what Id really love is when the 10 sec timer runs that the boy is beating to quarters on his drum. that would be fucking epic. (If we get the optin to mute that sound due to reasons given above) And yeah.. I never get sick of hearing the master and commander soundtrack while playing Naal Action. That means if done good I wont bother turning off sounds in this game at all.. (Like I do with most games when I am on TS) 2

BungeeLemming Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 It can also act as a warning when your AFK sailing or browsing the interwebs 1
Roy Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) AFK = away from keyboard We had beat to quarters in our mod for COAs and it got annoying so some people changed it so it was a different sound. Perhaps giving the player the option to pick between what sound they want would be a good idea and would make the player feel like they are setting the game to their style of play.
