yamms Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I have been using a free vector map and Adobe Illustrator to make a map that can be scaled to whatever size we want. However, I would hate to spend all this time compiling the work from other maps with my own only to find that the next game implemented a map. Do y'all think it is still worth working on? Do we know if a map will be part of the next update? 1
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 We don't know if the next iteration will have a map. We also don't know if the next iteration will even have the same area. I'm not insinuating anything here, other than that we don't know the first thing about how the world will be implemented from version to version.
Sir Cloudsley-Shovell Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 We also don't know if the next iteration will even have the same area. So "maybe" we will get a different Area to explore?
Siegfried Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 (edited) Admin, I thought that you could include a JPG map with the locations you use, but now I think that better we can explore the world. It's fun to explore and discover the towns and map limits and the uncertainty bring us immersion and a more feeling from hugeness of the map. Edited May 14, 2015 by Siegfried 1
yamms Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 (edited) Truth be told this is probably better than anything I could ever do (as it was created by a pro GIS person) so maybe I will set aside my project for now. If there is interest in an offline map after the servers are back up I will work on one. Check out the public open world map thread great link there. Edited May 14, 2015 by yamms
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 So "maybe" we will get a different Area to explore? Not that I'm aware of. I'm just pointing out some huge assumptions.
