Sir Cloudsley-Shovell Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) Title says it all really.I find that the Bellona's masts are made of balsa wood,in 3 games on the trot i have lost some or all of the masts, when i was using the ships below the Bellona i NEVER lost a mast. Also despite my efforts i cant seem to damage my opponents masts.Whats the BEST way of doing so? DazednConfused Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 ball at fighting top level. play around in pve and press L to check dmg - find the aim point that works for you.
Chromey Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 aim for hull when enemy presenting his broad side. Aim for the masts when they are pointed head on or behind them.
JaM Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 use battle sails, minimize the pressure made by sails on masts..
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'm not sure the forces of sail on a mast is currently modeled for the purpose of dismasting. While battlesails will help to reduce sail damage as a result of chain or ball, I don't think it does anything to reduce the chances that a ball will bring down a mast.
