Mr. Doran Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 So Mr. Doran you sound like you have experience, care to guide me in the starting of a regiment? Add me on steam.
Admaa Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) I clocked the same ammount of hours basically. 1366. I am not sure if I regretted it, as there were some good people I met of that community.Couldn't agree more Mr. Doran.Theres are a lot of melee/regimental/clan elitistism. Also quite a bit of narcissism. Couldn't get on with a large part of the community, so much two faced-ness. If the regiment were to not associate with the NW community, it could be alright, but i doubt there'd be much in numbers. Saying that I come from regiments where the smallest line was 20-30 men strong Edited April 14, 2015 by Admaa
Jeremiah O'Brien Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 We need to do naval battles But seriously, that would be amazing. Nobody does naval battles.
Sharpe Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 another NW regimental player checking in. The downside to this game is that you're currently somewhat limited to both Britsh and French ship crew and marines
Admaa Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 There used to be Naval Battles, but they got rather stale, rather quickly. There are no cannons on ships and the boats were laggy, was demanding on the server etc. Felt more like a brawl. Could be fun if properly organised I suppose.

Some maps have a few cannons on the ships.
Admaa Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Some maps have a few cannons on the ships. Them ships are static. And the ones that do have cannons on that move, are infact unable to fire. Unless this has been patched in the last 5 months of my inactivity this is still very much true. I doubt the FSE devs are quick to patch.
Flip Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198014028214/ Whats your rank in CSGO breh?
William the Drake Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I dabbled in M&B Napoleon for a little bit (I also arrived quite late to the game), but never turned to truly organized fighting. Mostly I simply wandered from match to match. If you gentlemen are keen on getting a regiment going, I suppose I can lend my support and my musket. As for a name, seeing as we are sailors going on land, perhaps a Regiment of Marines would be appropriate.
Mr. Doran Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Whats your rank in CSGO breh? Nova I; only troll with DMG smurfs that like power level/trolling silvers though lol
jekct1212 Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 Mr.Doran, I sent a friend request as jekct1212
jekct1212 Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 I agree that we should be marines, but what is a good marine name
Sharpe Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 depends, i know the US calls them Devil dogs/jarheads. I never really heard a British nickname for the Royal Marines though.
William the Drake Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 The moniker "Devil Dogs" for U.S. Marines isn't coined until WWI. I was thinking along the lines of "His Majesty's Royal Marines" or something of the like.
jekct1212 Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?385953-British-Army-Regiment-Names This is a list of the English units in the napoleonic wars I couldn't find any marines tho
Admaa Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 1st company 2nd battlion Royal Marines. Something like, 2ndRM_Pte_Jimbob_JonesThe 1st company 2nd battlion saw service in the napoleonic wars, I think.. They were called Lobsters, at least I remember from my history class.. (a long time ago now)

Admaa Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Damn! I just had my fix of hornblower.. I want to re-watch it now
Arvenski Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Damn! I just had my fix of hornblower.. I want to re-watch it now I know the feeling... 1
Sharpe Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) I know what that Lobsters reference was about; they meant the regular infantry, and NOT the Marines. I think it was funny that the regiment in casu was the 95th though. Edited April 24, 2015 by Sharpe
Admaa Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Found another. (for the british) "'Bootnecks'. This nickname is derived from them cutting the top from a leather boot and wearing it like a modern neckbrace to stop sailors cutting their throat while they guarded officers on board British sailing ships in the days of old."Though Urban dictionary is probably not the best of sources.
