Agesilaus II Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 For the first bit I'm just curious. I've checked the blog and the forum and there is nothing about the progress or important dates coming up. If I've missed them and they are somewhere then please direct me to them, if not then I would like to see where the game is and how y'all are doing if that is ok. Secondly, I've noticed on the small ships (like the Lynx) that there gun ports for stern chasers but there are no guns. Is that just how the ship was designed or are guns going to be added? What is going on with those? Thirdly, I was wondering if there will be any galleons introduced to the game. I would love to play as and explorer and econ player and a galleon would be nice to have. If y'all want me to suggest some then I'll do some digging and get the required items for y'all to design one. Lastly, will you be able to mix jobs? Can I be an explorer and econ player at the same time or a combo of any sorts? If so then how will that work? Thanks in advance. (This is my first post and I don't know if this is the appropriate place to put such a topic. If you are bothered then please excuse me and know that is wasn't on purpose.) 1
Mirones Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 on the lynx and Privateer they are only ports to let water flow of the deck and the cannons there would only be in the way when steering. doing econ and exploring shouldnt be a problem for you. the old bulky galleons are sadly to early. on time line its around 1670-1820 +-5

The Developers are currently fully engaged on the Open World Prototype. We don't know how long it will take to finish, but I have helped to test an early version and it's looking quite good. We hope that more players will be added to the Open World testing soon, but there is no announced timeline. Meanwhile, the Developers are also working on a few ships to be added this year. Those are the Rattlesnake, HMS Indefatigable, a Dutch Indiaman (the name escapes me), and a wild card that has not been announced. Hope this helps. 1
Agesilaus II Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 Thanks all the info helps. As to Mirones I found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_ship_Sant%C3%ADsima_Trinidad_%281751%29 I was searching earlier and came across it.

Didn't Black Beard own one of those bulky Galleons? The Developers are currently fully engaged on the Open World Prototype. Snoopy Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) Wildcard is the french first-rate Océan (-class). (as per last post in this thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/2994-player-selected-ships-2015-final-poll/page-20 ) Edited April 6, 2015 by Snoopy 1
Jack Freedom Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) Now we have another 1st rate ship. I would rather have a smaller Indiaman or something to give more flavor to the game. I wonder why people chose the Rattlesnake over the more powerful Independence Edited April 6, 2015 by Jack Freedom

admin Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Currently under way.. 1) ship development - several new ships are in progress including the winners of the voting. 2) damage model is fully integrated and is in internal testing3) fires and explosions is integrated and is in internal testing 4) open world npc behavior and roles are being worked on 5) AI is being worked on - they now can tack properly and use tracking shot for better shooting 6) Ship modules and upgrades initial list is implemented and being tested 7) new net code is being integrated to help with large battles performance 8) new smoke is in (maybe will cause some fps drop) could need optimization 9) open world is populated with almost 200 cities and towns 10) open world sea and ship behavior on water is being worked on as well. as new damage model carries a lot of risk we will keep sea trials builds open in case inquisitive captains want to compare old model with a new one. 11
Leviathan Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Lots of good things in that updated list. Nice to see the ship development time is moving faster.

BigJimJack Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I just happened to come across this game while searching through Steam. I understand that it is in closed Alpha/Beta right now, but I am very interested in this game as it is right up my alley. Played Navyfield and EVE for years and have always wished for a game like this (love the age of sails naval warfare) and BANG found one. I was looking for a time table as to when one could anticipate the game opening back up for more testers or open beta. I would love to help out for the test phase if that were possible.
Johan Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Same for me, hopefully it gets opened for purchase soon again. Its hard to follow the forum and watching videos
Arvenski Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Uh, guys, no offence, but this thread's been dead since April.

Read this http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/5764-purchase/?p=110372 Jeremiah was one player who did not get into the game before purchasing stopped. He emailed the devs and asked if he could get into testing. He was able to buy the game by emailing the devs. 2
