I was wondering about cannon customization. Back then, not all ships of the same class carried the same kind of armament, some ships took long range cannons, others took carronades and 16lb cannons. It depended mostly on cease fire periods, war time, the purpose of the ship, etc.

In my opinion, enabling armament customization, between certain parameters for balancing purposes, would add to the gameplay. Unlike Potbs, you cannot be sure what you will face, since every player can have a different setup. This would add variety to the game!

Have a good day.

P.S: Keep up the great work devs!

I was actually thinking a bit longer, having generic ships being built, small differences in characteristics depending on material, and different load capabilities, all dependent on the quality of the resources. Same goes for components like ship armament etc, which would mean that even if two players have the same type of ship, there will be at least slight differences, sometimes bigger differences, just as it were in reality.

Indeed Ampen, in reality, not all ships were made from the same quality resources. That would be a nice touch to the game!

I think there was a discussion thread about subtle ship differences on the Russian language board.

I really don't venture much into the Russian forums due to language barriers. But I'll search for it :) Thanks for the information.

Players will be able (in the future) to upgrade or downgrade ship cannons allowed by the ship hull.

We will also have different types of cannons in the game (including carronades, and ship-land mortars)

That's so great! That's what I wanted to hear :P

Btw, will the weight of the cannons be reflected on the ship's speed and how deep the hull goes underwater?

Best Regards.

ive been looking for tech drawings for these boat but have yet to discover any.

It is a bomb ketch, there should be some model building plans around. I'm sure I've seen them somewhere.
