Pulbah Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I am a brand new novice and I was wondering, considering the amount of broadsides I have seen on YouTube of the stern being smashed to matchwood if the rudder can be damaged rendering the ship unmanoverale except for the use of the sails? 2
Prater Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 The rudder does get damaged. For several seconds it will be unusable and you can only turn sails. After that it gets repaired to where it is usable but the ship is significantly less maneuverable. It is a pain, especially if you are in a first rate or a fore-and-aft vessel.
Pulbah Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 Prater, Well that just goes to show what good game this is. Thank you for your explanation.

It automatically repairs?
Prater Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Not fully, but it goes from unusable to slightly usable without using a repair. Same with pump and magazine.
Disgriminatus Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Think of it as, a couple of crewmen jury rigging it to get you out of danger till better repairs can be made...... not magic repairs ^^ 3
