Norbert Sattler Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Playing as Austria-Hungary, I've been attacked by Serbia twice now, one time they took Kosovo from me and another they failed to take Montenegro. Is there any way I can get my country to attack Serbia back? I think attacking me twice and taking one of my occupied provinces is a pretty damn good justification for war. 2

Sadly I have found no way to do so *BY YOUR COMMAND* unless you can get into a war with, in your case Serbia's ally. THEN you can perform Naval Invasions of any Serbia territory... remember this is a NAVAL game at its core so we don't get control of the army as well. Edited December 31, 2024 by Pappystein
Pappystein Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 **FOLLOWUP** Something I have used in the last two campaigns I have done that seems it **MIGHT** work... If the location they are invading from has ports, put a huge fleet of your own ships right up next to it's port. If not, Put a huge fleet next to your own ports in the contested territory (if any.) it seems to work... but could just be confirmation bias on my own part. 1

Thankyou for this reply, but is it possible to be more specific? I understood that one can invade an ally of a nation you are at war with, but the initiation of an invasion of a minor does not exist on the "relations" page, only the ports and of the of major nations that you are at war with! Does an 'allies' port get displayed along with their own ports on this page? If so, I have never noticed it. I've had this happen when playing Germany and having conquered most of Turkey, I was rolled back by Turkey with no ability to counter invade. I mentioned this in a previous post and was hoping it would be sorted in the latest update, but have not noticed it yet. I have tried placing a sizable task force next to the minor nations port (where the invasion is coming from) but with no success. It is even worse when the invasion comes from a landlocked territory, as one cannot even place a task force next to the source of the invasion, as it has no coastline. I'd really appreciate some assistance.
Cryadis Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 As in 1.7 Beta post i meantioned that if you get attacked from a minor nation from a provice without a port you cannot do anything about it. If there is a port in the province you get attacked from there is a good chance (it should be, but its not guranteed) that you get a popup to make a naval invasion to counter, Still even in that case it might be that (at the beginning of the game) your army logisics is rather low so minor nation will conquer you before you naval inasion can suceed.
Norbert Sattler Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 When they attacked Montenegro, which has a port, I didn't get a naval mission, to allow me to contribute to the defense, and just putting ships there without the mission didn't do anything. But I suppose the problem was kind of solved in a different way. While I couldn't do anything against Serbia, they have since been completely conquered by Greece, which whom I am allied. No idea if this alliance had anything to do with them deciding to attack Serbia, or if it was just coincidence.

C) you have a large fleet near said minor nation's port. D) You click on the MAJOR enemy nation's INVASION button and choose the minor nation. I have been doing it since the V1.7 Beta first came out and taking over various minor nations (Columbia, Ottomans and Pakistan.) HOWEVER if you are NOT at war with a major nation ally of a minor nation there is a, in my experience 1 in 7 chance of a pop up for a counter invasion from that minor nation. If you do not get the popup, all you can do is deploy ships near the enemy's Nearby ports. If you deploy ships near the enemy minor nation's ports, I have noticed the land battles go better for you. to the point of stopping 5 invasions of my territory when I could not counter invade. Including turning one back from 88% won by the Ottomans Edited January 1 by Pappystein 1
