Norbert Sattler Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I've been reporting that on the Light Cruiser III hull (Austria-Hungary, among others), the lifeboats are fixed (i.e. block both putting down modules and restict firing arcs) for years now, both ingame and in the forum, while there was still a feedback thread for each version. Is this hull ever going to get fixed?
PhoenixLP44 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 if the rumours are true it most likely isn't going to be fixed ever. 1
HMS Implosive Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 If you are into modding, you can change the hull for something else that fits your liking.

While this might be true, I find it unacceptable that basic gameplay flaws should be left uncorrected in a released game. It should not be left to players to do unpaid labor to fix a game. While their efforts are very much appreciated to provide features that are NOT PART OF CORE GAMEPLAY, the devs are not providing a functional feature. And there are many other missing final features. It is not acceptable to most reasonable people to sell an incomplete, broken product and expect others to make the product usable by unpaid labor. 2
Pappystein Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Or it could be they just want to leave a hull restricted from being too powerful. The Scout cruiser hull if it comes early enough is super OP for example. Those Lifeboats along the sides prevent you from putting too many big guns on board. Instead of running 16 5" twins like the hull can actually fit you are limited to 5 or 6. To be clear, I to do not like the Fixed accoutrements on the ships. It limits playablity of several hulls for my build style. EG I never use the Light Armored cruiser hulls since there is so little room for guns. I do not think it is a BROKEN feature. I think it is a feature that many of us do not agree with / like. One is NOT equal to the other.
Norbert Sattler Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 Considering how they have patched all other ships that had the same issue to return the lifeboats to purely optical goodies, leaving only this single example (as far as I noticed) behind, I'm very confident that it is not some kind of intended balancing issue.

There are many hulls that have this to some degree or another.
