BB1 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Windows 7 Ultimate, no game mods, Austro-Hungary, Legendary difficulty, create own fleet, 1890 start, Game version: 1.6.1.2 Old (since at least 1.6.0.6): 1) When using the refit button in the design tab and choosing which ships to refit, the total tonnage displayed is based on the previous ship tonnage, not the refit tonnage, even though the yard space required is based on the refit tonnage. New: 2) When ships are refitted, their tonnage isn't updated for game purposes until the game is restarted from save. This can be done either by restarting the game, or just exiting to the main menu and reloading the game. 3) Same as (2) but for tonnage from quirks from new production. 4) Cost to refit is affected by the mothball maintenance modifier, so a mothballed ship costs about 1/8th the normal cost to refit. 5) Refit # stops at 3 unless the game is restarted as in (2). Thus, you will get Ship-2, Ship-3, Ship-3, Ship-3, etc, until restart. Numbers don't update on restart, but begin progressing again. Haven't tested past the first restart to see if this pattern recurs. 6) Refit time is now locked to correspond to what is displayed in the latest refit version. Thus, if Ship to Ship-2 takes 12 months, and Ship-2 to Ship-3 take 1 month, going from Ship to Ship-3 takes 1 month. 7) The cost/month to refit a ship appears to be locked to the ship type, not the difference in ship cost or anything else. Even if nothing changes on the ship across the refit, the player still pays the cost/month for at least a month. 8 ) (related) Overloading the production cap increases both the time to build/refit _AND_ the cost/month, effectively squaring the penalty. 9) Combining (7) and (8) makes it very expensive or time consuming to perform minimal refits on a fleet which is larger than your production cap. 10) (related) Mothballing ships can be done with multiple ship select, but bringing them out of mothballs requires every ship to be selected, then the crew button selected, then the crew slider adjusted, then acceptance of the new crew.
