Hello Game Labs Developers,

My name is Jacob (Qui-Gon Jake on Steam and the forum). I wanted to add my voice to the discuss for the potential of adding a co-op feature to the campaign mode in Ultimate General: American Revolution. I have a friend who also owns this game and we both enjoy playing co-operative games. I know that we are also not alone in believing that it would be incredibly engaging for players to team up with friends, controlling different American armies on both the battlefield and the global map.

One sore issue I and others struggle with is micro-managing all of the regiments–especially when commanding massive battles where 10,000+ men take the field. Although the scale of battle truly is epic and a sight to behold, unfortunately, the grandness of it all is lost due to the stress of having to constantly manage every individual regiment across the battlefield. Delegating units to each player would be a great solution to preserve the grandeur of large battles.

Imagine coordinating strategies as we command different units within the army, collaborating on tactical maneuvers and responding to dynamic battlefield situations together. Additionally, we could work on building and upgrading infrastructure as a team, making resource management a shared and less burdensome experience.

Some ideas to enhance this feature could include:

  1. Joint Missions: Create specific missions that require teamwork to accomplish, promoting strategic collaboration.
  2. Shared Resources: Implement a system where players can trade resources and units, fostering interdependence and strategy.
  3. Co-Op Objectives: Introduce unique co-op objectives that can only be completed with both players actively participating, encouraging communication and teamwork.
  4. Competitive Elements: Allow players to face off against AI-controlled rival armies, adding a layer of competition to the cooperative experience.
  5. Dynamic Events: Incorporate events that require quick decision-making, where players must adapt their strategies together based on real-time developments.

I know that this game is still just in early access, and because of this, I wanted to offer this idea as a way to continue improving the game. Even if at the very least just Co-op campaign battles were possible, it would be an amazing feature, one that hasn't been used since Sid Meier's Gettysburg did all the way back in 1997.

I truly believe these enhancements would create a richer and more enjoyable experience for all players and could take this game from being a solo experience to a small community experience–which would in turn attract more people to buy and play this game!

Thank you for considering this suggestion, and I eagerly look forward to seeing this game continue to develop!

Your obedient servant,
Jacob Murray
