brothermunro Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 Compatibility update out. I know there have been a few reports of no ships on campaign start. If you are having this please let me know & double check you are running the campaign in slow mode (as mixed/fast is known to cause issues).

Ronny 1001 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 (edited) I am currently in 1900 as Spain and running out of crew. I looked at the finance tab and I am spending almost 1mil per recruit. Is that right? I am at currently at war and have been for a while if that means anything. Also have 775 in the crew pool. The settings here seem off. I am getting ships mothballed and hiring new crew costs heaps because most of the crew is in the pool because I cannot reach the BS threshold. Edited November 3, 2024 by Ronny 1001

I toned down crew costs *a lot* from vanilla, though it’s possible more recent updates have broken that. You are playing Spain though, they are a tough one economically and if you’ve been at war for a while it’ll be even worse.

It just seems a bit off that you can hire 700 guys for the same money as you can high 50 guys in the next month. Like in an economic downturn I should have no shortage or green recruits. It means to get up to 1000 troops for a new battleship I have to spend 100s of millions for a green crew.

Any chance you can have a look at this please? Its kinda game breaking that I can't build up enough crew ready for when I battleship is ready to be commissioned. Am loving the mod otherwise Spain on hard difficulty is pretty challenging.
MDHansen Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 This can be done fairly easy. Problem is, china will bankrupt themselves by increasing the crew cause its tied to gdp. @brothermunro I can tweak the numbers a bit on my end and see if I can find a golden middleground if youre interested. (Ill do it anyway..) 😄 2

MDHansen Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Busy days at work. I'll try and work some numbers tonight. @brothermunro DIP3.0 do you use the colony crew params from Nathan? I can check when I get home anyhow. even changing the crew pr gdp is gonna leave the smaller 1-region nations low on crew increase no matter what, until they get a few sizeable regions themselves. And increase Chinas exponentially... hm there is a param aswell set to a max ceiling vs how many crew is on your total fleet.. but I never thought it did much. Ive had it at 0.1 and china still gets like 150k crew reserves with a fleet that isnt 1mill... anyhoo.. ill see what i can get to work(ish) later 1

Redneck Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Any fix on getting nations to build ships? I have it set to slow build like you recommended but they refuse to build anything. Im also using the TAF mod as well to fix the ai giving their ships no armor. Would your DIP ship pack fix this issue?
brothermunro Posted November 13, 2024 Author Posted November 13, 2024 Quite possibly the last update for DIP v2, I'm hoping 1.6.1.3 Opt x4 will be the 'last stable version' on steam when 1.7 arrives. Work on DIP v3 is progressing, I'm hoping to release it this month

brothermunro Posted November 13, 2024 Author Posted November 13, 2024 (edited) I mean the devs have updated again so it won’t be but when they do start on 1.7 they’ll ‘lock’ 1.6 and whatever version it is when that happens will be available through steam for people to revert to. I’ll try to make sure that DIP v2 is available and built around whatever that version is so people can play it easily. Edited November 13, 2024 by brothermunro 1
brothermunro Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 Updated DIP for the x7 update which should fix the grey screen issue
brothermunro Posted November 20, 2024 Author Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) Not a compatibility update?! 2.4 Added new easy difficulty. Changed peace/war events so that if the player or ai decides to try and buy off another country they get a much larger relations boost. This should reduce the never ending mega wars. Luke27 Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 The file on nexus doesn't work, shows error on unpacking and the game is a gray screen.
brothermunro Posted November 20, 2024 Author Posted November 20, 2024 Nexus buggered it. I've uploaded a hotfix see if that works
