harry Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Any plans for the devs to move to the new unity version? Should get better framerates and some nice options for lighting...
Sir. Cunningham Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Moved the topic to the suggestions subforum. Now in response to Harry's post: I'm not sure you can just move to a new engine like that without losing a lot of work, in which case we ought to just stick with the current engine
shifty Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Well on the other hand if they're planning to move at all its better to move now Lose less work now than redo it all later
Sir. Cunningham Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 But do we really need to? What benefits are there to be had? That's the question really.
harry Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 IL2CPP is the first that comes to mind. Second would be better realtime lighting model.
BungeeLemming Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I dont think this is a discussion for the community at all. If the devs decide to "upgrade" they will do it. For now we have Unity 4 wich running just fine. The development priorities are definately on other aspects. -closed-
