Kerdh Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Game Labs, you can now put this shitty Unity into the garbage and use a real engine, like Star Citizen does it! many many games for the pleasure of our eyes! https://www.unrealengine.com/what-is-unreal-engine-4 Edited March 3, 2015 by Kerdh
Flip Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Would be nice but it would likely be a good deal of work porting the game to Unreal Engine. Unreal engine definitely gives credibility and lets face it, the release lists speak for themselves in a sense. In the end it comes down to what works best for the devs, whichever pipeline suits them best.

This, for all we know Unity might be the best engine for the job, however it might turn out for unreal to be the best engine, only time will tell.
Guest raat Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 ..like Star Citizen does it! Except Star Citizen is on CryEngine...
Kerdh Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Good, gooood. It was a test, you passed it. Hem
Kerdh Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 It's free, 'cause you don't have to buy anymore. And the income is very specific and not from you own money before having a game to sell (Early Access don't count ).
Iñigo Montoya Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Dear Kerdh, do you know how well -or bad- does Unreal work with huge enviroments and maps?
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Unreal Engine is not suited for large instances and has a limited number of connection slots for MP.

And the income is very specific and not from you own money before having a game to sell (Early Access don't count ). actually, it says on their website that afte $3000 you have to pay 5% royalty on anything above, unity likewise is not free either however it is possible that they allready bought a license(which has no royalties except the inital investment so might be cheaper) and there is nothing that says that unreal engine 4 will be better.
Brigand Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 This thread is not constructive, contains misinformation and solicits uninformed opinions. Apart from that, the choice for the unity engine has been made a long time ago and will not be changed. Locked. ~Brigand 5
