Dont forget to shop an aftermaket CPU cooler. Else you should swap the 'K' processor for a non-K variant. (If you dont want to OC you dont need it)

Something like a Macho HR-02 at least if you plan to overclock that beast in the future.

Hi,

Are you informed about the VRAM issue NVIDIA has with the GTX 970?

They advertise 4gigs while they only deliver 3-3,5 gB of ram.

http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-Discloses-Full-Memory-Structure-and-Limitations-GTX-970

Make sure you are not running into problems with your 3-monitor setup. 3 gigs and full-HD Monitors x3 is already cappin gout on BF4 for example. (I saw it on 3-way SLI 780, 3gB RAM)

(I am not sureif the partpicker is only a shopping link or your finished machine)

Yes, who doesn't know about that...the last 500 MB is on a separate bus with 1/8 the bandwidth.  I can run Star Citizen racing module at 70 FPS across 3 screens.  Surprisingly Arma 3 with a high 2000m draw distance is probably the most intensive game I've run graphically, that and some benchmarks like Valley and 3DMark firestrike, and obviously 4K DSR is only like 20-40 FPS depending on the game.

Anyways, I will just sell them once 14nm FinFet GPUs come out in Fall most likely.  This game runs near 100 fps with 30 ppl in a storm battle.

Wow, some of you guys have completely overkill PCs. What application in the next 10 years will ever fully use GTX Titans in SLI or a 8 core Intel processor? I doubt even running 3x 4k monitors would require such parts.

I do a lot of 3d modelling and UDK fiddling and a 150€ AMD FX8350 does the job really well, I have no idea what could drive a person to buy a 1100€ intel processor. I'm not envious at all, having a mix of cheap parts, - but there has to be a line somewhere. You guys are either working on your PC for a living and/or you are just ridiculously rich

Count Crapula, great name :) Are you from Finland? Just asking because Crapula relates to one word in finnish ;)

About specs: some People will always buy the best when it becomes available, no matter the price.

I usually buy good parts in few year cycle, not everytime when there is a new generation. Gaming is my hobby and my way to get off from the 'real world'. That is how i justify my purchases to my self ;)

I usually buy parts only when the old parts either break or just simply are not capable of performing well enough. But each to their own I guess!

Just wondering, how would my future operate at 1080p? Could I play at Ultra with 60+ FPS average?

I will be the oddball, because I love my recliner.

I have an ASUS ROG G751JT-CH71 laptop with a 1920 x 1080 17" LED Monitor

i7-4710HQ running at 2.5 GHz

GTX970M with 3GB DDR5

16 GB RAM

I run NA in 1920 x 1080 at Ultra and get 50+ FPS

Runs steadily around 30fps at 1920x1080, Graphics set at ultra. Biggest battle I've been was around 9vs10 ships, didn't notice any drop in performance.
