[Bug][1.4.0.4]Torpedo travels much further than advertised range

Repro attempts: 3/3
Repro steps:
1. Enter any battle
2. Watch enemy torpedo launches and their marked range

Current behavior:
Torpedos travel much further than their range says and can still hit and damage ships when they outrun their marked range.

Desired bahavior:
Torpedo should be incapacited beyond their maximum range.

Torpedo max range is the range at which they can target an enemy ship, but they will travel up to twice that range, if they don't detonate in the water before then.
I don't think it's a bug though.

Twice? I've had 3km range torps keep going well over 10km.....

Also if that is deliberate and not a bug, it's probably the most moronic thing I've heard since I watched a sovereign citizen video.
If the torps can do 30km, you'd target at 30km not refuse to target above 15km..... 

@Nick Thomadis Can you confirm if this is intended? If so why?

I would like to disagree. If your torps have a range of 30km you don't want to launch at that range because the enemy can turn away from your torp and it runs out of fuel before even touching the enemy.

The tracking already takes that into account. Notice for example if the target is moving away from you at max
torp range (or greater than max torp speed) then the torps won't fire.

Not sure if they will fire at above max range if they are heading towards you, not seen that.

Torps only launch if the enemy is within range so they shoudln't fire at enemies which are out of range but heading towards you.
