flankir Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) This +2000% accuracy cheating modifier for AI was reported long ago and seems devs not gonna fix it at all. It just silly when naval academy briefing says about "high accuracy" of big cannons and then AI raining you with >50% accuracy of his 6" when your 13'' have below 10%. Is any mod that removes this modifier or at least reducing to range that used for player which is 10 times lower? Edited October 5, 2023 by flankir
Guest Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 i think the problem is this is a "hidden" bonus. There was an option given in the params-resources.assets file at some point, but it's not the one we want. I believe it's this one targeting_confidence_smoothen,2,smoothening the targeting delta per salvo with this factor (bigger value makes the targeting progress to grow faster),,,,,,, @o Barão can correct me here if I am way out
Guest Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 also, the AI isn't the only one getting this bonus. Players does aswell

With "targeting_confidence_smoothen" at 0 the bonus will be around 1600% I guess. I don't remember if it is possible to apply a negative value. 1
Guest Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 did a few tests with 2, 0 and -1. difference between 2 and 0 was as you say about 400% (2000 vs 1600) setting it to -1 didnt do anything, but acted as if 0 was used. So 1600%

Just notice when your main guns go from 20% accuracy to 80%. Had that in all 4 test fights yesterday. I believe someone posted a screenshot at some point in the 1.3.9 thread. I have a few laying around and can post once back from work Edited October 6, 2023 by MDHansen

This accuracy happened only once at melee distance while AI getting it mostly instant. Most of the time i see 70+ accuracy of AI while my main guns not have even 10%. This silly, especially when you have much bigger caliber and ai using very shorten barrels and still hitting you Edited October 6, 2023 by flankir
Guest Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) It is true, it takes a bit to get to the 2000% bonus. Mostly i see up to 180ish. I am always very concious about my approach with my battleship and how i maneuver contra the ai, so i get the big bonuses rather quick. I cant say much about the ai really, because i dont really pay attention to it. Though i am running a very heavily modded game (my own twist on everything to make it harder in all aspects) Edited October 6, 2023 by MDHansen
flankir Posted October 6, 2023 Author Posted October 6, 2023 Now tested again in speed naval academy mission - when we both going in straight line with same speed i have 240% and AI have 2400%. Need find and disable this AI-exclusive x10 multiplier.
Guest Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) Its not ai exclusive. But I am not gonna spend more energy on this. If I get the time Ill post a short video or some screenshots, at some point Edited October 6, 2023 by MDHansen
flankir Posted October 6, 2023 Author Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) 2900 was AI exclusive. Now for test I changed some accuracy parameters and cap of bonus reduced to 780% from 2900 for AI and increased from 290% to 780% for me. Its one of parameters in right part of parameter strings, dont know which one yet because those parameters bad documented and no idea yet which part of string influences player and which AI. But its definetely separated for AI and player because bonus become equal only after i replaced some values with equal to other values in same string. Later will find out which one parameter it is. At least game become fair now. Edited October 6, 2023 by flankir
Guest Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) this is interesting indeed. Lert us know what you find, please this is vanilla parameters. Earlier today I had 2100% but forgot to screenshot it Edited October 11, 2023 by MDHansen wrong picture
Seleukos of Olympia Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 I'm sure I've had over +2000%, but hadn't thought to take a screenshot. The last battle I played, I noticed I was up to 371.8% at one point.
Guest Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 (edited) updated my picture as I jsut noticed it was the wrong one this one shows me getting 1477%, and I get 1000+ quite consistently through fights against large and slow targets, and occasionally up towards 2000 Edited October 11, 2023 by MDHansen
Bishop120 Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 How are yall getting the range found bonus and/or ship size bonus? I have never seen the range found bonus in my campaign play throughs and I havent seen the ship size bonus since alpha days.
Panzergraf Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 No players absolutely get the +2900% bonus too, and this is not a new 1.4 patch thing, it was the case in 1.3.9 as well. Range found bonus will creap up to that number (which seems to be the hard capped maximum) after enough salvos. You get it much faster with lower caliber very fast firing guns, which is why mid/late game light cruisers with 5-6" guns and autoreloads are very very dangerous at the moment, as they get that bonus almost instantly. +300% (give or take) seems to be the indended range found bonus cap, as the bonus will some times get stuck at that number for a while, and the accuracy you get at that point seems a lot more realistic than the insane accuracy you get with +2900%
