When I find a good ship hull like this one at just the right technology, in Spain of all places, I end up dancing a jig lol.

I am Russia main and in my designs I usually follow the approach "there can't be enough dakka". https://content.invisioncic.com/r237714/monthly_2023_06/image.png.60539057ceea6acf1375a43fb012b9e8.png Though, honestly I have some difficulties in figuring out how to tune AP type for the CAs. 8-inch gun is technically able to penetrate BBs - as AI usually tends to keep them around 12-14 inch early on (I play with NAR mod and it is not that easy to stack armor there so AI is forced to stick closer to reality), and dedicated AP shells tend to penetrate BB main belt at close distance at least. BUT at the same time said shells have too slow fuse delay so most hits on anything other than BBs are just overpens - which still do the thing, thanks to floodings, but actual explosion inside is much funnier. 1
