Ships become uncontrollable

Having an issue where when I’m combat after a little bit of time, certain ships will just do their own thing. I can’t get them to turn where I want them at all. Only way I have figured out that helps is to manually turn the rudder.

Update: My first ship gets hit by a single torpedo and every single time all my ships in that group become uncontrollable. I can detach ships and manual rudder but besides that they go crazy. This is happening every single battle with large ships.
