admiral-pasta Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 I seem to have been having an increased problem with the main guns on my ships not firing recently. It seems to be a problem at close range and strangely seems to be more of a problem when the hit chance is high. When the hit chance is low (below 5%) my ships are quite happy to fling shells pointlessly into the sea but as soon as it goes high, they refuse to fire. It's very frustrating knowing that I could be winning battles (or winning them more easily) if only my guns would fire at targets they are locked onto right in front of them. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a long-running problem?
Aruon Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 how close are we talking about? keep in mind that your ships may just too close and either is just outside their firing angles, simply just unable to depress (most naval guns being able to depress to about -5 degrees), or constantly trying to stay on target at such close and technically never being truly locked on- though that may be dealt with by enabling aggressive firing.
neph Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 It's probably still the same stupid thing where once your secondaries start going their high rate of fire prevents the main guns from firing (yes, it's stupid). If you turn your secondaries off at close range, do your mains start working again?
