Damn. can you upload your save file to take a look?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WDAyIWy8BVpxp7rX0XhybfdwIhAfqBpb/view?usp=sharing

Here is my save, its on the turn before this occurs, when you click next turn, it will run through the normal steps and then give you the options to go to war, or deny, etc, and then once you get through that menu, it just is frozen on the moving ships page I think.

I believe that the current bug is happening with some sort of earlier hull; I am currently playing a 1905 Campaign, and so far, I have not experienced the game-breaking bug whilst using the mod.

Previously, I restarted three campaigns that started in 1890 - all of which ended between 1893-1894. I'm not sure how much help that will be, but, I hope it does.

Does NAR override the Peace Checks changes in Params for TAF? I was looking in the Params.csv file and found no mention of TAF_peace_checks or any of the configurable parameters for it. Am I looking in the wrong place, or does NAR override it?

Posted (edited)

the peacechecks are off unless specified on in the params file. Nathan needs to do a proper check, since weird war/peace situations was reporteedn.

taf_peace_check,1,,,,,,,,
taf_war_max_months_for_low_vp_war,6,,,,,,,,
taf_war_low_vp_threshold,20000,,,,,,,,
taf_war_min_months_for_econ_collapse_peace,12,,,,,,,,

That stuff is preventing me from continuing my 1912 savegame by inducing an eternal "ships..." loading status. Perhaps also related to the current problems?

@o Barão Hey mate. I haven't changed neighours in my Province file, and I just discovered that northern_colombia has northern_colombia as neighbour. It should, clearly, be southern_colombia. I just got the province error (moving ships) now. I have now changed it, and will update this post if the error ever comes back.
It might get an issue ingame if an invasion starts, or maybe Colombia moves ships from north to south colombia, or vice versa. Dunno...

Update: So that worked!
Ideally, you would want to start a new game because the province file is changed.

However; after fixing the provinces.csv file
northern_colombia,Northern Colombia,caribbean,colombia,colombia,colombia,colombia,colombia,colombia,colombia,colombia,0,country,10,22000,-1,1916,5,700,400,7,0.0125000002,2,"panama, venezuela, northern_colombia" <-change this to "southern".
Load the savegame, hit end turn. You will most likely get the same error, and northern colombia is governed by neutral/ungov.
Now, go in to your savegame and find "northern_colombia" (it has 2 entries)
{"Id":northern_colombia","Controller":"neutral","ClaimPlayer":"colombia","ControllerPlayer":"neutral","IncomeGrowth":0.0,"PopulationGrowth":3743.69678,"PopulationLosses":67457.84,"Population":0.0,"isOilDiscovery":false,"isRebellion":false,"RevoltCooldown":0,"Ports":["barranquilla","santa_marta","cartagena"],"ArmyLosses":0.0}
change it back to colombia where it says neutral, save. Load the savegame and hit end turn. This should have fixed it.
This fix is only for the mid turn error "moving vessels" and the "[20:24:09.506] [UnityExplorer] [Unity] ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added. Key: Northern Colombia (Province)" error in ML logs

Say, with the mod being closed, would it be best to wait until later to recommend some turret model changes? I have been doing some digging, and I think I've found some good turrets that might help the Austro-Hungarians again. Sorry, I hope it's not at a bad time.

Yeah, I was looking at my Params.csv file and couldn't find any of those lines in it. I had to add taf_peace_check manually and didn't see any of the others.

So, I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong file, or if they're not in there because NAR overrides the Params file.

Thank you!! There is still an error reported by other player related to "ukraine", but I can't find any error about that in the "provinces" file.

It is strange why these errors are happening now and never happened before. I will create another "provinces" dump file to see if I can find anything.

update: There were some changes to "provinces" neighbors made by the devs. I already updated the file with the new changes, but I still didn't find any strange related to Ukraine.

I believe I have seen this once or twice before. But I think with the recent changes they did in provinces, something must've gone wrong. It's easy to do tbh. I can't even count the times I've made a comma too much, forget to close a line etc etc :D But I agree though, why now...

I'll have a look for Ukraine aswell, but I didn't see any obvious mistakes myself earlier

Just thought id mention, the game and mod is working fine for me. Is it not for everyone else? Is that why the files were hidden? I'll note that I'm continuing a campaign from as previous version, and I have both Columbias conquered.

northern_russia has ukraine as neighbour, ukraine has only central and southern russias in its code as neighbours

That can be what is causing the issue. Thank you! I will fix those vanilla errors and upload the mod tomorrow.

That sounds great. Yet I wonder wether the "ships..." freeze I mentioned is also related to that issue?

You are talking during loading turns, right? What you got from the ML log?

No, during the loading turns it was fine. Problem began when I started the game again and tried to load the savegame again. I can't even enter the campaign any longer. Dunno why, I did change nothing between exiting the game the previous day and starting it the next day.

here's the log:

The mod will continue to be in "closed" status. I am checking all the provinces, and I am seeing many connections that should not exist or should exist and are missing. You can check in the link above. I only saw around 1/6 of all provinces, and I already saw too many errors.

Also, I will need some assistance from Nathan first to squeeze any possible errors with TAF with the current UAD version, if they exist, before the mod goes live again.

Does it make much sense to fix that for yourself? It's something the devs will have to fix anyway for it's also a problem for vanilla, isn't it? so the work would be done twice and your work would become obsolete, as soon as the devs solved the issues?

Yes it is important, because there are many situations that land battles should not exist, or it should exist, but the game doesn't allow because of these errors.

And if I don't report, most likely is that you will not see that fixed.

Well. Reminds me on the modding community of bethesda games. 😅 Thanks for taking care. Even though... wouldn't that mean that one does have to play NAR to have this fixed at all?

I am only checking the connections and comparing to what I am seeing in the map. The issue is the list is long so will take some time. 333 provinces.

I posted it up in the main bug report thread, but I figured I'd post here as well to save you some time, if I can.  Kiautschou Bay and Weihaiwei are connected in the provinces file when they shouldn't be since they don't share a border in the map.

And since the Strait of Messina just doesn't exist, no reason Eastern Sicily and Southern Italy shouldn't be connected.  On top of that, none of the Japanese islands are connected to one another, when you should at least be able to cross from Kyushu to North Honshu on account of the lack of a naval strait or crossing.
