I just had the most amazing fleet battle.

Playing as the British on a 1920 campaign, at 1922 Germany went to war with me.

At this time I had 15 dreadnoughts, 4 BCs, and some heavy cruisers and light cruisers doing empire work away from the main fleet. My only scouting ships were about 10 CLs I attached to the main battle fleet.

Well anyway, the battle came up- 15 BB, 4 BC, and 8 CL vs 2 BB, 2 BC, and like 25 cruisers both light and heavy AND 4 destroyers.

So the battle came and I deployed. I had 4 battle squadrons, one of 3 ships, and the other 3 of 4 each. My BC squadron was there also. I had my CLs at flank speed out in front to scout for the Germans.

Well they discovered them and opened fire. They did some damage to opposing CLs but not that much. I had torpedoes on aggressive so the cruisers torpedoed away (doing minimal damage) and then the German big ships came into range from the southeast and I begun to deploy. I had my 1st and 2nd battle squadrons deploy traveling northwest in an arc at 18 knots. My 3rd battle squadron backed them up (they were supposed to get involved but the AI was hello kittyery). The BCs went the other direction, traveling southeast at flank speed to get around the ass end of the Germans. I made the cruisers retreat because they had shot off all their torps. 4th BS went with them but again, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI so they were out of the battle for a while. All ships had their main batteries set to off instead of Normal.

About 10 minutes after I deployed the full Germans came into range. 2 battle squadrons curving around their front, battlecruisers and another battle squadron curving around their back. Another battle squadron to back it all up. The battlecruisers had gained ground by this time and was nearly on the back flank of the Germans, so I put them at cruise speed too. I went from ship to ship targeting and I had roughly 12 of my 19 capital ships focused on the 4 major german capital ships with big guns only. Then I set all guns to open fire.

it was magnificent. 14 inch, 16 inch, and 12 inch(battlecruiser) shells absolutely pulverized everything. I went full John Jellicoe on their asses. It took the German battleships a while to sink but the battlecruisers got got early. The BCs had pretty much circumnavigated the beleaguered Germans and did a lot of damage while sustaining minimal. The 1st two battle squadrons did some loop-de-loop crap via the AI firing all the while and shot everything up. Finally 4th BS got involved after I found them sailing off to Timbuktu and re-routed them at the same time the German BC Grosser Kurfurst did its suicide charge. Well the 14" guns killed them off. At this time fire was switched to the German cruisers and it was a free for all. 3 cruisers were sunk outright, many more were heavily damaged but I didn't want to risk torpedoes and get a lucky hit so I pulled out. As the BCs were circumnavigating the 4 german destroyers did a suicide charge and my one BC the Queen Mary ate them alive, sinking 2/4 all by herself. By this time the major fighting squadrons were running low on bullets so I gave the orders to pull out. 3rd battle squadron covered their ass and sank 2 damaged german cruisers on the way out of the door.

I smacked those germans so damn hard that they begged for peace after 1 major battle. I got Helgoland and 2 cruisers off of them.
