Will there be functioning canals?

Will the game get functioning Panama, Suez and Kiel Canals? Especially the former two would have a pretty significant impact on the game.

Good point, if you have the Suez, then without Kiel canal the map would seems alittle screwed up.

Oh i hope we have Suez and Panama at the very least, otherwise playing as America will suck. I do think they should be time gated to the era they occured in, so the Suez is fine in 1890 but Panama isn't ready till 1914, and the Kiel shouldn't be open till 1895

Can you  even get anything bigger than a small-medium DD through the Kiel canal? Suez and Panama for sure are nice and deep.

Yes, definitely.

I don't know about it's initial size, but before WW1 Germany expanded it specifically to make it wide and deep enough to fit dreadnoughts through and after the channel dash Scharnhorst and Gneisenau went through it in WW2. At that point it was wider than the Panama Canal, albeit shallower if I remember correctly.
