MarcoRossolini Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 His Britannic Majesty's Ship Flatulent, Aromatic and (naturally) Mary Rose are preparing for sea at this moment!

Bart Smith Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Well not sure we will be able to name ships but if yes here is where i can dig for it: http://www.ageofnelson.org/MichaelPhillips/
Axralis Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 I really dont know at this stage but i think for now it s going to be " Zara " witch is a old name of my Town.
AtomicTiger Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 i like to get names a la rivers or animals, like Tigris, Panther or names of Towns
Mirones Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 In Potbs i had ship names just like Dirty Cat, Wet Cat, Angry Cat etc. Wet Cat was most rarely sunking gank ship Guess i will stick with that tradition, if I buy this game somewhen. a friend of mine used his Wenden in Portbattles and managed to get an DR of 24 or 26 on the boardside. in the end we named it things like "Graf Spee" because it was an Panzerschiff in these battles or "Großer Kurfürst" i miss these times
Prince of Whales Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I am a big fan of the "I" boats. When the Royal Navy was naming their first battlecruisers prior to WWI, they came up with quite a long list. It started with impressive-sounding names like "Invincible" and "Indefatigable", but further down the list I found such comic entries as "Inconceivable", "Invisible", "Inflatable", "Inconsiderable", Inflammable, and Incircumcisable". I once named a tramp steamer the SS Silverfish. An even smaller smuggler was called Willie Maykett. For those of you who know the song, there's always the Good Ship Venus. My German destroyer Z-25 was "Der Zee-monster".
AlabastarEpic Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Me- Alabastar Reaper B Centurion(till that ship is added in) Peacher Named after me m8's and my favorite ship. And yes I realise they dont sound too ship worthy but it is after all my ship. 1
Grim DeGrim Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Is it "Peacher" or Preacher"? I like Preacher... I could have alot of fun with a ship having that name.
Captain Unseaworthy Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 The Pelican, Or the Lady Devoy 1
Admiral_Of_The_Fleet Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 All my ships are called .....SFOR.... go figure?
AlabastarEpic Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Is it "Peacher" or Preacher"? I like Preacher... I could have alot of fun with a ship having that name. Peacher named after The Peach Cartel(I am a founder) Preacher sounds likea badass name for a ship also
Outsurgent Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 My Snow is called Jon, and he knows nothing. Sorry had to! Or H.M.S Sanguine, because I'm optimistic in the game, or: H.M.S Sanguinary, because it's pretty much what the game is about.
BlueEagleGER Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I think my ships will be named after creatures and Heros from Greek/Roman mythology. Imagine the a fast frigate named "Gryphon". Blue-EagleGER
Charles-René Magon Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 For names of French ships, here is a list of ships of line of the French Navy in the Napoleonic era : https://troisponts.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/liste-des-vaisseaux-de-la-marine-francaise-1789-1815/
Jack_the_Stripper Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I have some very good but know they will be stolen if I tell anyone
Mass Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 For a french vessel i would pick Viera before i chose my best name for a ship
Flashman Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Currently HMS Royal George, however I will forever hold dear to me the weatherly and sturdy 38 gun HMS Leonidas; there is no equal to cruise the open sea for enemy ships to sink, burn, or take!
Domestikos Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I'll name my ships with greek islands names such as Ydra, Spetsai, Psara etc. I'll surely name a frigate if i get one with the name Karteria. And the SOL by the name Anastasia or Constantinople. Small fast ships will probably take one of the 2... Salaminia or Parallos.
