Beta 1.06 Campaign turn freezes, reloading stuck on ".... Other ...."

About 6 years into my campaign before  ever getting into a battle I encountered an issue that stops me from being able to play any more. 

While in my game I hit the next turn button and then the next turn never arrived, it was stuck on loading.

I force quit and tried to load, but it is an infinite loading screen loading "... Other ..."
