William the Drake Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hoist the colours and raise 'em high, For this be the hour to do or die! We boisterous souls, we young and old We strike our fear, we sailors bold! For once we stomped upon the grounds, So now we sail for safer sounds. Yet now we be crossed, and will not flee, For a watery fate be reserved for thee! "Beat to Quarters!" Old Jack did cry, So to our stations we gulls did fly. Ba rump bump bump, the drum did quake. Ba rump bump bump, our ears did ache. Thus loaded the shot and rolled out the guns. The ship, she awoke, all one thousand tons. Now upon thee we have set our sight The triggers ready, the aim be right. The hatches open, and we tars all ready, We await our orders, now calm and steady. "Captain! Captain! What say ye?!" He stood tall and stout to answer our plea: He raised his arm high, so proud he did stand Released a great roar, and threw down his hand. So shouted he a word we never do tire, A brisk, short, and resounding "FIRE!" 4
Thomas Blackwell Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Did you come up with this, or is it an actual song? I try and write one song for each game I play, this is mine for NA Across the sparkling sapphire sheet, Lay a Yankee merchant fleet. The great guns roared as shot let fly, About their decks the wounded cry! Heave to lads and forward ho, Into the maw of Hell we go! Courage now lads and take pride, Fancy Tom is on our side! As quick as naught the battle's won, Slaughtered every mother's son. One ship sunk and two as prize, The prettiest thing to cross my eyes. Heave to lads and forward ho, Into the maw of Hell we go! Courage now lads and take pride, Fancy Tom is on our side! Collie pirates homeward bound, Yankee doodle hunts around. Even if they spot our sail, To take us they would surely fail! Heave to lads and forward ho, Into the maw of Hell we go! Courage now lads and take pride, Fancy Tom is on our side! 2

I dabble loosely in the realm of prose so this is probably not the last you will see from me And a very fine shanty you have sir! I can almost hear the crew chanting this as they go about their work in the rigging
