British 18" naval guns

Historically, the royal navy managed to get 18" guns onto 6000 ton monitor ships in WW1, but that seems basically impossible on any ship design of relatively close size. Will we see changes to the 18" guns or British ships to allow this historical meme? Or is it already possible and I've just happened to miss the exact hull that would facilitate this?

I think they said somewhere that they won't do monitors. Or at least if they ever do, I don't think we will see it for awhile.

Seems strange to ignore such a critical ship in these time periods. Wasn't exactly an unused ship.

Perhaps they are waiting for an expanded set of operations that make sense for them. Deploying monitors with a battle fleet would not happen very often.
