Rucki Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 (edited) What I mean is, if you put lets say 345mm armor on your belt and then add the armor type to something like Krupp XYZ you get +65% armor, but then there is no display on the screen how much the effective armor after the 65% is. I mean yes, we could use a calculator or calculate ourselfes, but it would be nice to have that display directly in the designer. Edited April 15, 2022 by Rucki 14
Spitfire109 Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 This would be lovely. A good way to know how much the difference between the different armor types actually are. Lets you more accurately measure how much armor you have. 4
Dman1791 Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Yeah, something as simple as "3.2in (5.44in eff.)" would be great 5
SpardaSon21 Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 I'd also like to see this in battle as well, not just the designer. Put it in the mouse-over tooltip for armor on a ship's infocard. 7
LoSboccacc Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 (edited) or just show the effective values; effectve protection, weight and costs is what matters anyway since it doesn't track volume used, only tonnage Edited May 16, 2022 by LoSboccacc 1
Candle_86 Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 If we are going to work on armor, honestly it should be lighter, Iron Hulled with wood ships had 20in of armor, Compound 18in, Harvey could go down to 9, yet try to build a 15kn battleship with 12in guns and 20in of iron armor, you can't 3
Dman1791 Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 Alternatively, the game could display the correct amount of armor penetration on the guns, taking into account the armor's efficiency. So if you have armor that's 150% effective, guns only show 2/3 of their raw penetration values.
Tlmitf Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 With the new update, I would LOVE to see something like warthunders armour viewer, and penetration simulator. If you are not familiar, the armour viewer highlights the armour layout with different colours, and lets you see exactly where the armour is and isn't, as well as a calculator for effective armour from the cameras angle. The penetration simulator allows you to select a cannon and range to fire at the target. The camera sets the angle. With the ability to fine tune the armour layouts, we are going to need much more information to make these features useful. Either in the ship designer and/or some form of post battle analysis showing how your ship was/wasn't penetrated. 2
Rucki Posted June 16, 2022 Author Posted June 16, 2022 It is really uncomfortable to be in constant need to calculate the real effective armor. Please devs include an option to see the effective armor in the designer screen.
Rucki Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 I´ll be so rude to bump this thread (just a little bit). I apologize in advance.
