Campaign lost after crash caused reboot

So, i've been having massive problems in general with the game causing the computer to freeze up entirely when running the designer, or sometimes during battle - this happens 4 out of 5 times running the game. This time, i was just loading up a campaign which i was a few hours in, and the subsequent turn i had a battle encounter which i started. Immediately upon entering the battle, the computer froze up again (screen turns black, fans start spinning up) and i had to force a reboot. Next time i loaded into the game, the "continue campaign" button was greyed out.

The serious part is that after the first reboot, i was having issues starting up the computer again. The boot screen looked different, just black with a spinner. After the third attempt at rebooting, it said that my windows install was damaged and needed repair, though it also had an option to attempt another restart, which i did. This time it booted successfully. I'm not sure if i dare to play the game anymore if it is going to keep doing this!

My suspicion is that the freeze has something to do with asset loading, as if the game survives the initial 5 minutes of launcing the designer/battle, it will keep running fine indefinitely. Maybe there's some async race condition, or the game is trying to access unloaded/invalid data. I know that GPU hangs can also cause similar issues. Either way, please fix this ASAP or this game will remain unplayable for me. 

I'm running on a Ryzen 1700, 16GB RAM, and a GTX 1060 GPU. I never have any similar issues in other games.

It appears the Campaign has no save feature.

I've lost two campaigns so far, once when I had a power failure to my neighborhood, and once when Microsoft forced a restart of my computer after a forced upgrade.
