Is it possible to modernize ships in the campaign?

I recently got into the campaign and would like to modernize some of my ships instead of building new ones.

Is this possible as of now?

Nop, you gotta have a new design and build it from scrap if you want to change anything at all, including propellant or other such things. Changing current designs is not a feature yet

Someday it will be per the devs, but when it will arrive I have no idea.
