MyTeitoku Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I have played both nations from 1890 to 1930. Very good, and I put my full trust in Dev's ability to polish it even better. Just one big QoL issue: please allow the players compress time at players' will. Sometimes I just wanna chase the enemy, and they are not spotted. I just, sit idle irl. Very boring, very tedious. Or sometimes the enemy is kiting me but my ships are winning anyway, firing at the enemy without any of my intervention, and I know, as a fact, the enemy will be sunken. And I just, sit idle irl. Very boring, very tedious. So could you please allow players to choose time compression at will? Just change the time compression once, when the enemy enters the certain ranges, then allow players to change? 11
akd Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Time compression at will, no restrictions, but a menu for events that drop time compression (and set these by default to "don't die stupidly" selections that the player can alter if they wish). 8
Littorio Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 (edited) I agree with this. It should throttle down to normal speed when detection is made, that way you can figure out the appropriate speed to proceed with given the range at which the enemy is. Edited December 5, 2021 by Littorio

Command: Modern Operations has this and I always have it set to pause the game when submarines or missiles are detected. It would have saved many of my ships when they detect a torpedo launch. 4
Norbert Sattler Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 While we're at it, maybe also implement a configurable auto-pause function like they did allll the way back in Baldur's Gate back in 1998 to give just one example. Auto-pause on spotting a new enemy or a torpedo would be fantastic to have. 5
TBRSIM Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 You can use the speedhack function of CheatEngine to adjust game speed up- and downwards. This is a stopgap but it works. 1
ColonelHenry Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 The x10 x30 was available for all ranges during the first few updates of the Alpha versions. But they removed them due to "instability" or whatever. Yea. I would like them back please.
Tycondero Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 I agree. Time compression should be in full control of the player. Maybe some small smart moments of forced 1x or pauze could be added as a QoL thing, but in general the game should not prevent us from increasing the time compression when we want to. If the super high (30x) has issues in close fights then those should be an exception, but let us at least be able to use 5-10x when we want no matter how close the enemy is.
LSTT Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Hi! I would also recommend this. I basically created an account just for this. Please!
Grayknight Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 If i understand correctly there is a serious bug with time compression. It has something to do with torpedo hit detection and raming nocliping. I think they will give us that option as soon as those are resolved 1
