MyTeitoku Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 My 16500t pre-dreadnought can only take 5k damage 1
AurumCorvus Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Not exactly. Yes, it can only take "5k", but BB hulls have a huge resistance modifier, meaning you can only inflict a fraction of the damage on it (usually less than 70% I think, but I usually play in the later years where you can easily boost it to 90% or higher damage reduction.) The TB on the other hand, takes full damage because it has minimal resistance. Hell, even BCs have a good difference from BBs just based on the resistance stat.
MyTeitoku Posted November 25, 2021 Author Posted November 25, 2021 No, the resistance has nothing to do with anything here. Pre-dreadnought has negligible resistance. In this 1890 scenario, resistance is 60, which gives a mere -8% gun damage reduction. 1
Evil4Zerggin Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 (edited) IIRC each section has 100 "hit points" regardless of ship size; instead, incoming damage is divided by a factor proportional to tonnage + 5000. I'm not sure why they didn't just give bigger ships more hit points instead of dividing incoming damage. Edited November 26, 2021 by Evil4Zerggin 1

Oh so if it's tonnage+5000, coupled with same HP for every ship, then indeed a lot could be explained. 2
