Very nice, hope we can implement models as well. Ships without fencing bugs me too be fair.

Oh my God I thought I was the only one who was being bugged by that. Another thing that bothers me is that none of the ships windows has glass. Just add some glass it doesn't even need to be see through just add some bloody glass.

And some parts of the ship being in places they shouldn't like those big floodlights and search lights.

But this mod looks very nice however.

this is Reshade, universal library that works with every unity game in existence, and some config; it is not actual mod of a level that could change the game itself. Don't get too dreamy, people.

If the entire game, or at least a portion of it is moddable, I feel the community might beat the devs to updating this game. Lmao.

Nasty comment :D

I already took a look at the UAD files in the hope i could do some editing the same way as in "War on the sea". Well the bad news is we don't have easy notepad files available to tweak variables values. I was hoping to improve the ships movement in the water. I never lilked the way they bounce. Look like toys in the bathtub.

The good news is many files can be open in unity. So anyone with unity experience can make some good work.

Is clear that it wasn't the intention from UAD devs to make this game friendly for modders. Which is a pity imo since from my experience modding WOTS, both the game developers and the players can win a lot .

Maybe, but I'm not a fan of suger-coating. I like to say my opinion as it is - the truth.

Based off the pictures the smoke, fire, and shell tracer FX look a bit better in the original, but everything else looks so much better with the ReShade.  I think it's the crispness/lack of bluriness on them in the ReShade that make the FX look a bit weird, but the colors on them look better in the ReShade version.

Thanks for sharing.  :)

Yes there is always room for improvements! The fire can be improved a lot however there is one important detail. The colors tweaked also affects the UI so is difficult to find a right balance between visual quality and an UI easy for the player to read. With time i hope i can improve on this.

This is current UI in New Horizons.

A reshade visuals modification for UAD. v1

Objective:

- Replace the vanilla look from UAD for one more realistic.

- Reworked the image details; shadows; clarity and colours.

Installation:

Download reshade: https://reshade.me/

Install reshade ( i recommend install all shaders just in case no one is missing ) in the "build.exe" from this location: C:\...\Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts\Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts\default\game

Download NewHorizons mod: https://app.box.com/s/zz9se63lpf1ccpl8yddlqd4rohz30kav

Apply the NewHorizons.ini into the reshade program inside the game.

Nice job. It isnt perfect, as the colors can look a tad unsaturated on some ocasions, but it shows that small little tweaks to the game can make a big diference in some areas.

I hope the devs are willing to implement these tiny tweaks on a more polished way. I doubt these would take more than a week, especially with this as a source.

Looks lovely. Folks, it's fundamentally just photoshop live, a bit of color grading, a bit of edge enhancement done continuously. It's simply configurable post-processing done well.

Good job on this!
I have a question: For me everything appears weirdly pixelated and blurry, is it some known problem with reshade?

Cptbarney

There is in-game interface with all the settings in nice GUI form, and i think you instantly see the effect

Very nice indeed, is editing the shaders, hue etc. as simple as editing them in unity with a certain file or script?

I am really not the right guy to talk about unity. In wots i only managed to import the carrier Hosho using Blender/unity/notepad++ and it was with other TTE modders helping me. So my unity experience is very limited.

Well i noticed that UAD always start with anti aliasing disable for me. Doesn't matter if i am playing at ultra in 4k, is always turn off. So the 1st thing i do when i launch the game is go to settings and enable anti aliasing. And of course the higher the image resolution the better.

But if you still see some strange issues post an image for me to take a look.

On a related note, I'd just like to take a second to appreciate the detail work that the modelers have been putting in lately.  The "greebling" on the newer hulls and components is absolutely fantastic and I can't wait until the rest of the parts get the same treatment.
