I successfully downloaded the game and played it a bit yesterday, but I had the error "Another instance of launcher client already exists"  pop up a few times, probably because I had left a box checked to let it put a shortcut on my desktop as well as my start bar. I think I managed to play because I still had the window open that I'd used to enter my key and stuff before downloading the game? But now today I can't manage to get anything to open. I've tried deleting every instance I could find of a launcher and I still get the same error. Tried uninstalling and deleting the temporary files like I saw in another thread, but it said I couldn't delete the temporary "Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts" file because something in it was in use by another program. Checked task manager and the only thing running was chrome, because I had this site open to try and find a solution. Tried installing again and as soon as the installation wizard was finished and I hit enter, it hit me again with "Another instance of launcher client already exists". Any ideas?

Admiral, make sure there are no other instance of launcher is running in the same time - open the system tray (around the windows clock and date)

Also, please clarify if you tried every step:

1) Uninstall the game from launcher, then uninstall the launcher, after that make sure no temporary files remained:

2.1)

  • Press Win+R then type: %HOMEPATH%\AppData\LocalLow\Game Labs\
  • Right click on Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts folder and delete it

2.2)

  • Open Windows Command Prompt (press Windows + R and type cmd, press enter afterwards)
    • type: regedit
  • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Game Labs\Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts
  • Right click on  Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts folder and delete it
  • Close regedit

3)

  • Open Windows Command Prompt (press Windows + R), then type: %HOMEPATH%\AppData\Local\
  • delete the folder Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts if it is there

4) Install the launcher and download the game

I restarted my computer and that allowed me to delete the temporary files from Local.

Went through the command prompt and deleted the folder from regedit.

Deleted from AppData/LocalLow/GameLabs.

Installed the launcher and this time unchecked the box to have it launch automatically, for good luck.

Double clicked on the desktop shortcut and got back to the login screen, so that's progress!

Successfully remembered my login info and got to the screen with the ships on it.

This time I did not check the box to have it put a shortcut on my start menu, but I got a notification that I can find the launcher in my system tray, so maybe that was my problem from the start?

Game finished installing, hit play and got started just fine. Closed the window so now we'll see if the problem starts again.

Double clicked on my desktop shortcut and got the game started again so I think that did it!

Just tried it again and the error came up but then it worked anyway.
