Map mode.

The 3D camera can be exausting to get proper info and a good idea of where you are going, what we need is a sort of top down map mode where you can effectively hand out orders to your units similar to RTW.

Many people agree with this, but the devs stated there will be no map.
I suppose they have some kind of alternative in mind, wonder what it may be.

When did they say that? (just curious I don't remember it at all)

 

Personally I would hope for a map. Otherwise it can be very easy to some ships to "sail away" in the wrong direction without you noticing till they are far from the action.

Somewhere in one of those topics with suggestions, Nick literally wrote that a map view isn't planned.
Can't tell which exactly.
