ReefKip Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Will Capsizing be a thing in the game? cannot see anything confirming this on the Forums. Like for example if flood damage is so much on one side of the ship from multiple torps or waterline pens the ship just turns over and is disabled. ofcourse this depends on the size of the flood and the overall weight of the ship. a Yamato would be more difficult to capsize then a heavy cruiser, 4
Cptbarney Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Im hoping it will be, we had discussions in older thread and i think some of the pinned ones about different death animations via various events and causes. Not sure if they answered that in the stealth17 Q&A thread at the top. 3

Shaftoe Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 I certainly hope so, but there's a team of only 4 people working on the game, so don't expect things that are not necessary, and generally don't expect too much. 2

Thats true. im keeping my expectations low. still would be sad if it ain't got added. hope it is atleast on the list of things to look at after the campaign is added. 2

Same, would make it that much more dynamic, coupled with a better skybox, actual dynamic weather, day/night cycles, more sound effects and themes plus crew and officers occasionally shouting orders, sayings etc and reacting to situations would be cool. I guess i want way too much lol. 2
RUSS663 Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Sinking by the bow or stern would be fantastic. I think to get all of our wish list it will come to MODS. 1

Day and night cycle would be nice as well. massive shortening of engagement distances because of decreases in visibility would mean enormous advantages for DD,s because it allows them to get closer to BB,s which makes Torps that much more devastating. for the campaign this would give benefits to a DD oriented Navy fighting against Heavier navy,s by trying to pick mostly night engagements , Maybe BB,s can counter this by having better night fighting tech. if such tech existed in the first place. Maybe they could make search lights as an additional module to put on ships to increase visibility on the side it is put on as a starter, 2
slayer6 Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 It might have something to do with the Offset in the ship construction - Port/Starboard Offset... Hell, I was planning on making some big gun, small size Monitors, and Offsets will definitely feature there - imagine an Aft Offset of 13, and then taking a flooding hit there... I imagine your ship would sink much faster... 1

This would be a nice addition to the flooding mechanic as well. right now the consequenses of offset are barely noticeable. i believe it only impacts Mobility right now? i have never made any Ships that suffered from too much offset so i have to guess here. I also think how water floods in the ship should be better showed on the ingame Ship damage image. right now you can only see which compartments got flooded, not if it is the left or right side of the compartment. most ships had splitted compartments on the left and right side. this would be pretty easy to show in the Top view image of the ship so a player can quickly know where most of the water is located at which side in the ship. 1

Mods would be awesome. most of the features that people want can be created by mods. the only thing the developers need to do is lay the groundwork for them. It would be pretty ironic if they refused moddability for the game. the developers used to Mod other games themselves which allowed them to get their developing skills for creating this game. 1

I would put money on the DEV's allowing mods once the game is completed. It keeps games fresh and relative for a longer period. 1
