Mooncatt Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 When i first got this game it had huge potential. however, like many many other games each patch makes the game worse than it was previously was, or issues that have been raised by the community go unseen or ignored. each update might have improved the new mission releases and proved fit for purpose. but what they have also done is made the older missions pretty much impossible to complete (i really dont envy new comers to the game at all) i dont go back to these older missions voluntarily i might add. but i have to because of other reasons. for example....i turn on my pc one day and the whole game doesnt work. when i finally get back into the game my whole progress is lost. so i have to begin again (thats fine, it was fun.....now its more or less impossible) it doesnt seem to matter what armour you use on most occasions, be it barbette or citi armour. most times you will get flash fire and its game over. this happens waaaaay too often. when it happens to the enemy BB very little happens to it apart from maybe a lost turret. but if it happens to you?? guaranteed your sunk. I dont like playing DDs or CLs they are just not my style of play, they really arent!! why force the community to complete most missions to unlock the new ones that are highlighted with the "???" really????? i have completed every mission that doesnt involve DDs or CLs because i simply dont like the way they play. the enemy A.I seems to be able to hit your DDS or CLs with absolute ease but your BB seems to miss enemy DDs or CLs on nearly every occasion. but the "???" remains. ive also noticed (while i begrudgingly dragged myself back through the incredibly increased difficulty of missions) that armour doesnt seem to make much of a difference anymore. belt armour then yes, but extended armour ....no. slap on as much as you can or want, it makes no difference(yes, im angling my ship!!). as does the barbette armour or citi armour. as i see it you just have to get lucky. thats very very sad, i dont want to win on luck. torps...... your torps are easily dodged, the A.I seem to have an extra rank where the shaft is concerned, BBs seem to be able to turn on a dime, your BB however cannot do that even with the max shaft upgrade. i honestly dont know what else to say, theres a lot more issues than ive mentioned. but the way the game is right now? its a total loss imo

And I really don't understand why people keep complaining about difficulty of the Academy missions (it doesn't happen that often now but few months ago there were tons of comments about that). I understand that they might be very hard for some people even impossible as you said but why is that a problem? Why do you need to have them all completed? I would kind of get it if the game would be on Steam already and there would be an achievement for completing them all but right now I really don't understand why is it so important for some people. Well maybe you were just unlucky. Again, my experience is totally oppposite. When I got flash fire it usually means (besides losing gun of course) slight loss of structure points (maybe it's because I use maximum bulkheads almost always) and when AI gets flash fire it always means loss of some structure (as it happens to me) but it very often also means one of these two things: 1. chain reaction because of which AI ship looses most of it's guns and severe loss of structure points. 2. Well if you didn't notice these missions are called Academy missions. So I fully understand why devs make community go through them. My experience is different again: From my experience I think that hit rate of both player and AI is the same. Have you tried to maneuver with your vessels a bit? I don't think that AI ships are turning somehow faster but I observed that AI really evades torpedoes more easily than player. I think that this is not caused by AI ships faster turning but rather by AI' not oversighting torpedo warnings and also because when AI gets this warning, it can immedietaly make the ship start turning but player need some time to spot the warning, to select the ship and to turn the rudder. Steam uses cloud saves. I'm sure the Devs can/will implement the feature as part of their Steam release.

There are several options that influence flash fire. From barbettes, citadel, powder (I find this is a major factor for me), shells, hydraulics, and even reinforced bulkheads. As for happening to me, had it happen, didn't sink. I find the chances of it happening are higher in a destroyer or cruiser than a battleship.
